Center for Adventist Research Manuscript Collections

On this page you can search the manuscript collections held by the Center for Adventist Research. The Center holds more than 400 named manuscript collections occupying over 4,000 linear feet. Materials in these collections include letters, diaries, personal items, biographical/autobiographical material, topical or subject focused files, research and lecture notes, published and unpublished manuscripts, photographs, scrapbooks, audiovisual recordings, artifacts, and more. Many of our collections are searchable here, but please visit our PDF listing to find collections that have not yet been entered into this database.

If you wish to view the collections and their contents, please email car@andrews.edu to make an appointment or to make a digitization request. Digitization services are available for a small fee.

Search or browse our finding aids for folder titles and other descriptive information found in our collections that interest you. Using the drop down menus will assist in a search within specific fields. Search tip: add an asterisk (*) to the end of a word to return results with possible variations of the search term's ending (eg. doctrine* will search for both singular and plural forms of the word.)

Most of our manuscript collections are not in digital form.
