  • Existence: 1871 - present

Boulder Seventh-day Adventist Church was the first Seventh-day Adventist Church established in the state of Colorado in the year of 1871. Besides being the first church in Colorado, Boulder Church has another historical significance due to its connection with James and Ellen White in its formation stage. History records that around 1879, when several future Boulder Church families started their journey to Colorado on a wagon train beginning in Dallas, Texas, the White’s traveled with this group to attend a camp meeting in Emporia, Kansas. After the meeting, the Whites traveled on to Battle Creek while the wagon train continued on to Colorado.
