Historical

The Bordoville, Vermont, Seventh-day Adventist Church has the distinction of being the first ever church building purposely built as a Seventh-day Adventist church. There are other older church buildings used by Adventists, but they were originally built for some other denomination. Further, this church was among the first, if not the first, church to adopt the name, Seventh-day Adventist. They did this in 1861 when the church formed with 11 members–they had been meeting prior to that in the Bourdeau home.

Through the years the church has gone by different names, namely Enosburgh, West Enosburgh, Enosburg Falls, and Bordoville. All of these communities are in Franklin County, Vermont, and located within a few miles of each other.
