Ingathering Program

 Organization

Historical

From early in the 20th century Seventh-day Adventists in North America andmany other countries would go door to door soliciting funds to promote the mission and humanitarian work of the Church. Each year a tract or small magazine was produced to give to potential donors to describe the Church and its work throughout the local country and the world. It consisted of some general statistics, a few stories, and an appeal for financial support. The Ingathering program, at least in North America trailed off in the late 20th century as people’s openness to such appeals changed and church members stopped doing this type of activity.
