Biographical

Daughter of John Byington, Martha is credited with teaching the first Adventist elementary school in 1853. She was the first president of the Dorcas Society in 1874. In 1860 she married George W. Amadon. See The Student Movement, April 6, 1933 and April 5, 1934.
