Biographical
Fordyce W. Detamore was born March 10, 1908 in St. Paul, Minnesota and died May 15, 1980 in Orlando, Florida. He attended Emmanuel Missionary College. He married Aletha Stout on May 21, 1928, immediately after graduating from college. They had three daughters, Gwen Wiser, Arlene Dever, and Kathleen Smith.
Detamore is most known for his work for the Voice of Prophecy beginning in 1942, including originating the Bible Correspondence School, and his work as an international evangelist. He also served as a teacher, a pastor in both Michigan and Indiana Conferences, Educational Superintendent for two unions while in Singapore (where he also spent about six years as a boy) and was the author of several books.
