Biographical

Melvin Kenneth Eckenroth (1914-1975) was a Seventh-day Adventist pastor, evangelist, administrator, and teacher. He graduated from Emmanuel Missionary College in 1937, and later earned a doctoral degree from Howard University in Washington, D.C. He held several pastoral positions before becoming an associate secretary in the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventist Ministerial Association in 1947. Four years later he became chairman of the Department of Field Ministries for the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary located in Washington, D. C. In 1958 he accepted the position of President of the New Jersey Conference. He joined the faculty of Columbia Union College in 1963 where he remained as chairman of the Religion Department until his death.

Content Description The collection includes correspondence dating from the 1940s to 1975, many sermons, syllabi and class notes, evangelistic material including sermons and radio scripts, and topical files and clippings. It is a wide ranging collection with the heart being evangelism and teaching others how to do it.
