Week of Prayer Readings

 Accession
Identifier: Collection 299

Content Description

Each year the Seventh-day Adventist church develops a series of readings designed to be read by the whole church during a designated week of prayer usually during the fall months in the northern hemisphere. The articles are typically written by notable figures within the leadership levels of the church such as A. T. Jones, A. G. Daniells, W. A. Spicer, J. L. McElhany, and W. H. Branson. The General Conference president usually wrote the lead article. The articles typically appeared in the general church magazine, the Review and Herald. This collection consists of a series of week of prayer readings from 1886 to 1975, in English, with a sprinkling of readings in non-English languages.
