Provenance

When Iola Martin was a supporter of Douty's anti-SDA views, she was allowed to make photocopies of a portion of his correspondence. Over time, Mrs. Martin changed her position in respect to Mr. Douty and the SDA Church, and felt these papers ought to be preserved within the Seventh-day Adventist denomination. George Knight, Professor of Church History at the SDA Theological Seminary, contacted Mrs. Martin, and she allowed the Adventist Heritage Center to photocopy the contents of this collection. Some additional papers were donated outright.
