Content Description
From the Collection:
The primary feature of this collection is a sizeable number of original poems composed by Max Hill covering different themes such as education and spirituality. Some of his poems were published in the Review and Herald, the Adventist general church paper. Other works include books titled, Exchange Ship and Studies in Prophets.
There are some personal and biographical documents in the collection as well. Of particular interest is the diary of a Japanese doctor serving on Attu Island in Alaska during World War II. The diary documents the Americans attack on the island and the Japanese defeat which ended with the death of most of the Japanese soldiers including this doctor. We do not know the connection between Hill and the doctor unless they knew each other while the Japanese man was studying at Pacific Union College.
