Content Description
From the Collection:
This collection consists of one archive box containing 18 folders principally between the years 1959 and 1967. More than half of the collection consists of a portion of the correspondence of Norman Douty as he conducted research for his book, The Case of D.M. Canright. Much of the correspondence is with Canright family members, primarily Jess Canright, Dudley's son, and Cliford Dey, Dudley's son-in-law. Other correspondence relates to preparation of and responses to his book, Another Look at Seventh-day Adventism. There is also correspondence between Clifton Dey and Carrie Johnson, the author of, I Was Canright's Secretary.
A great deal of Canright family history and biographical information on Dudley Canright is also available in this collection. Genealogical records, clippings, and legal documents trace the Canright family tree.
Several distantly related manuscripts are included as is "Documents Relating to the Experiences and Utterances of D.M. Canright" by the White Estate. One folder contains a limited number of book reviews of Norman Douty's books, Another Look at Seventh-day Adventism and The Case of D.M. Canright.
