This collection consists of papers, declarations, publication by various authors, printed transcripts of speeches and court proceedings, open letters, administrative and personal letters, memos, clippings from newspapers and periodicals The contents focus on a wide range of controversial topics related to the Seventh-day Adventist church, some of its Institution, and members. The time frame is generally the 1970s through late 1990s. Please note that not all the people listed were controversial, but they were often deeply involved in the churches’ response to issues.
Harvey Brenneise served as the head reference librarian for many years at the Andrews University James White Library. Through the years he had a deep interest in following the controversial issues and people within the Seventh-day Adventist denomination and collecting documents related to the issues. This collection is his files compiled over more than 20 years.
