Dates

  • Existence: 1912 - 2002

Nevins M. Harlan was born in 1912 and died at the age of 89 in 2002. Harlan came from a family that made significant contributions to the Seventh-day Adventist Church. He was the great-grandson of John Nevins Andrews, the Church's first foreign missionary. His father, Sanford M. Harlan, worked for the Review and Herald Publishing Association for fifty-five years. And his younger brother, Russell, who also worked for the Review, was a well-known artist.

While Nevins Harlan was not nearly as prominent as his great-grandfather or his brother, it is evident that he was dedicated to the cause of God, serving faithfully in pastoral work for four decades. Harlan pastored all over the United States in the states of Tennessee, Florida, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Washington.
