The Harlan materials are arranged in the following order: First, various items relating to Harlan and his family and materials relating to his father, Sanford M. Harlan. Following this are materials relating to the various churches where he was pastor. These materials are grouped together by state the church was located in. Next are the sermon notes and Bible studies that were bound in loose leaf binders, arranged chronologically. Then, loose sermon notes. Lastly are the miscellaneous items.
