Raymond Forrest Cottrell (1911-2003) was one of the leading theologians and intellectuals of the Seventh-day Adventist denomination during the last half of the 20th century. He served as a pastor, missionary to China, college professor, associate editor of the Seventh-day Adventist Bible Commentary series, associateeditor of the Review and Herald magazine, and a book editor at the Review and Herald Publishing Association. He retired in 1977 but remained very active in theological discussions. He was a founder and contributor to Adventist Today until his death.
