H.M.S. Richards Jr. Papers

 Accession
Identifier: Collection 343

Content Description

The H.M.S. Richards Jr. Papers are series of personal documents that are closely related to the Voice of Prophecy. Two of the largest and likely most interesting series are his appointment books for the last 15 years of his work as VOP director/speaker, and an extensive collection of folders containing plans, sermons, and other information on his many evangelistic meetings from 1962 to 1994. Together, these will provide a nice look at the activities of Richards during his active years as speaker/director of the Voice of Prophecy. Included also a few manuscripts of his sermons from the daily radio ministry he had from 1980 to 1981. The researcher should also be aware that the Andrews University Center for Adventist Research holds the business or organizational archives for the Voice of Prophecy radio broadcast from its earliest days through the years following H.M.S. Richards, Jr’s association with the ministry. This archive includes correspondence, minutes, reports, broadcast scripts, publications, and a wide range of other records documenting the work of the organization.
