Materials Specific Details

The following is Dan Shultz’s research materials for Adventist Musicians Biographical Resource originally filed in four drawers of a standard-sized file cabinet. There were over 400 interviews and conversations during the preparation of the book. There are 19 cassette tapes (at the end of this collection) which include interviews and conversations Shultz had with 33 of those persons. Shultz found that many persons were more willing to talk if the phone call was not being recorded.

Once the first draft of a biography was written, Shultz shared it with the person or his/her family. Copies of their responses are included as well as over 150 IAMA Biographical Information Sheets that were sent to Shultz. Those are included in the file for each person.

Each person’s file includes a copy of the original and subsequent updated versions of the biographies, including those that were updated following publication of the book as well as the 240+ that were revised and forwarded for the Encyclopedia of Seventh-day Adventists project in 2017-2019.
