Seventh-day Adventist Encyclopedia Original Articles Collection
Collection
Identifier: Collection 277
Content Description
This collection reflects the tremendous work involved in the compilation of the Seventh-day Adventist Encyclopedia. The materials included in this collection are basically two different drafts of articles plus some new materials added to the existing materials collected by the editor. It is difficult to tell which draft is earlier in the process. In some ways draft 2 appears to be closer to the original submission from the author than does draft 1. Draft 2, in many cases, shows the author's name of the article.

Arrangement
The collection is divided into three parts with each part arranged in alphabetic order. The first part is named as the first draft, the second is named as the second draft, and the third is categorized under the title “new materials.”
These divisions may not be accurate. The whole collection came in several boxes full of different kinds of binders. The only organization was related to what was next to each other. The processor had to rely upon her own observations to categorize many of the seemingly repeated materials. As mentioned above draft 2 may pre-date draft 1, but it is difficult to tell. Only the third part is assured by a specific indication on the binders by the editorial staff as “new materials” added to the already existing Seventh-day Adventist Encyclopedia materials.
