The collection contains largely unpublished records in the following categories: correspondence, personal documents, writings by Andreasen, writings by others, materials on institutions, and photographs.

The present arrangement of the collection was imposed by the Adventist Heritage Center in order to maximize the accessibility of the materials. The series are arranged either chronologically or alphabetically, depending on what seemed most logical. In some series, however, where the folders consist of a random collection of materials no additional effort has been made to impose an order.
